My pottery is about line, form, and function. I create utilitarian pottery with soft, elegant patterns that stem from math, language, and nature. Most pieces are intended to be used daily. I believe that using handmade objects can bring a newness, a specialness, to every day rituals such as drinking your morning coffee; it's this notion that keeps me interested in creating functional pottery.

I have sold my work through Etsy since 2007, and currently I have works for sale through this website, and in person at local markets. A small selection of my work is also for sale in Southern Roots Filling Station in Jacksonville, FL and also at Collector Art Shop in Berkeley, CA . Please email me at kyri.karalis {at} gmail {dot} com if you're interested in custom work.

About me:
I grew up reading and daydreaming in a sleepy Central Florida beach town, and in school I fell in love with music and visual art. I received my BFA in photography from the University of North Florida in 2004, but I just could not stay away from clay. In addition to making pottery, I take photographs, knit & crochet, ride and work on bicycles, kayak, and generally spend as much time outdoors as possible.
